Our home

Looking for a home/pet sitter October 6 or 7 to October 20-21. We have a brand new home in the Spring Creek Development in Zion Crossroads. We are surrounded by vineyards, historical sites, hiking trails and many other great activities. We are 14 miles from Charlottesville and 45 miles from Richmond VA.

We have a medium dog who is very friendly and loves people, we prefer to keep him in our home while away on vacation.

You will have a private bedroom and bathroom for your use.
Bikes are available for riding. Pickle ball and golf are available in the community, as well as a full clubhouse, bar/restaurant and a variety of activities and services.

We live in a beautiful community at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are approximately 10 different vineyards surrounding Zion Crossroads. You are 2 hours from Washington DC and 3 hours from Virginia Beach.

Marcel and Carl were super easy to work with and provided good instruction for the house, plants and care of Ritz. The house was beautiful and the neighborhood and amenities were outstanding. Ritz is super easy to care for and loves to hang out with you and go for car rides. Definitely recommend.
Marcel and Carl were very gracious hosts. When we arrived there was a delicious "get to know you" meal waiting. We all talked late into the evening. Ritz, their dog, was the best little guy. I feel guilty calling him a dog, he's more like a little man. He is so well behaved and understands everything you say to him. He is friendly, doesn't bark, and you can't help but love him. Ritz has a set routine and let's you know it. Between walking 2 to 3 miles a day with him and working out in the ... MoreMarcel and Carl were very gracious hosts. The front row seat to Hurricane Ian notwithstanding, I highly recommend sitting for Marcel & Carl, and the lovable (and extremely well-trained) Ritz. Carl & Marcel are great (and interesting!) hosts, and I felt comfortable with them, immediately. Marcel made delicious pizza, and the three of us had a delightfully far-ranging conversation the night I arrived. Ritz has a definite routine, but the guys have it clearly laid out, and it was easy to get right into the swing of things. Their ... The guest bedroom is perfect, with its own en suite bathroom. And ohhhh, the pool. Between the 2-4 miles a day of walking, and the laps in the pool, I was feeling like a new woman by the time I left! And I miss Ritz already.

Pieter and I enjoyed taking care of Ritz who is a sweet dog! He rarely barks and just enjoys his walks (as do we) and being with you. It is a beautiful area with easy walking paths. Friendly people. We mostly enjoyed sitting outside in the screened-in pool area taking dips and enjoying just being outside. A fan above makes eating outside doable even in Florida's August weather -for us anyway, we loved it. We hope to be available for them again - generous, welcoming, hosts!
