Our home

Wonderful neighborhood with all newer homes. The house is very light and welcoming as is the backyard. Pretty view of the hills out front. If you like to cook or bake you will love the kitchen.
We have a medium size 3 yr old male shepard mix dog that is a sweetheart. He loves walks, playing with his dog buddies, does well at dog parks, trail walking and interacting with strangers. We have a medium size 3 yr old male shepard mix dog that is a sweetheart. He loves walks, playing with his dog buddies, does well at dog parks, trail walking and interacting with strangers. He does need to get out at least twice a day for a long walk, playtime or hike. He is happy in the house, has a dog door to his fenced area and potty spot, which has an easy to clean surface.
The neighborhood is safe, walkable, rideable and a short walk to restaurants, grocery, gym, hospital and even a couple of winery tasting rooms. We are in Sonoma County so it is wine country and a craft beer hub. 45 min to the coast, 1.5 hr to San Francisco a few hours to the Sierras. Hiking trails abound and some of the best road bike routes in the country and the weather is very temperate.

We have a garden and a vegetable garden (seasonal) that are on a drip system but there may be a few pots that will need some extra water. The inside plants only need some water every couple of weeks.

I love Sonoma County! It is close to everything from city life to country from the ocean to the redwoods to the mountains. The vineyards, wineries, craft breweries, entertainment, outdoor events, hiking and world class cycling are first class. Really a nice place to visit and to live.

Woody is a happy dog, very lovable and easy going. He does expect to be walked two times a day, a long one and a short one would be good. He is very happy in the car if venturing to nearby parks is your thing. He also knows when his meal time is (7 AM and 5 PM). 2 cups of dry dog food 2 times a day is all that is required for feeding.
September will be bountiful in the vegetable garden so please help yourself. A drip system is programmed so there should be minimal watering of a few outdoor pots.
The home and yard is inviting and comfortable. Woody has a dog door to his own fenced area where he does his business so as to keep the garden area clear of, well you know.

We are both retired. My partner was a PT and I was a career firefighter in Seattle. I just retired as Senior Inspector for the County of Sonoma Fire and Hazmat. We like to travel, hike and cycle.

What an absolute pleasure and honour it was to stay in Marcia and Paul’s beautiful home (watching the hummingbirds in the stunning garden is fab!) and care for Woody. From the very start we were made to feel so welcome and at home. Woody is such a gentle, well behaved and easy soul who loves his tummy tickles, was very good on walks both on and off leash and was always up to play! Marcia and Paul were great to communicate with and are such a lovely genuine couple we felt like we’d known them ... Marcia/ Woody were amazing! It was very easy to get in contact with her if needed. Woody was absolutely in love with our pup Asu! He was a great playmate for her & was very sweet with us as well. They had a beautiful Lemon Tree in the back that had tons of lemons if needed! The entire garden was beautiful. We hope to see Woody again soon!

Marcia and Paul are welcoming and cordial hosts, who communicated well. Their home is fabulous: attractive, comfortable, and modern. The highlight of this sit was their GSD-Terrier mix dog "Woody". What a wonderful companion! Woody is affectionate, attentive, energetic, obedient, playful, and loves pets, cuddles, and belly rubs. This was a very enjoyable sit, and I will gladly return if the opportunity occurs!
What can I say about Woody? Only great things. He is a super loving and gentle dog who loves pretty much everyone and everything! He's super easy to take on walks since he has zero leash aggression. And, if you take him off leash on a hike, he never strays far and never hesitates if you need to put a leash on him suddenly. For one so big, it is funny that he afraid of so many things -- leaves, sudden sounds, bird noises, etc. Haha. Be prepared to be super active with him - he's got dog park and ...
