favoriteWhat we love about our area

We live in a very friendly community located in NM's high desert city. Since we abut to the National Petroglyph Monument it's very easy to exit the community and hike the monument. Our community has an outdoor pool, pickleball and bocce courts., I-40 and I-25 are nearby allowing easy access to NM.

Our pets

CatsCats (2)
We have two cats who love attention when they're not sleeping. Both are friendly though sometimes shy, and love to be petted and brushed. When the weather is warm enough we leave both the front door and the sliders to the catio open so they can go in and out as they desire.

Our garden

local_floristGarden or plant care

Minimal - There are several plants in the house to be watered twice a week. In the catio there are herbs to be watered as needed..

It was a pleasure to cat and house sit for Larry and Cheryl. Their very comfortable house is located in a lovely gated community with a fantastic view of Albuquerque and the mountains. Larry and Cheryl were great hosts and fed us dinner the day we arrived after giving us a tour and explaining what we would need to do while they were gone. They also left a helpful manual of info on the house, cats and area. The cats, Dixie and Ruby, were very sweet and easy to care for, although Ruby was a bit shy for the first couple days. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily sit for them again if the opportunity presents.

Larry & Cheryl were wonderful hosts to me. We shared dinner together the nights before they left, and Larry gave me a full rundown of what I needed to do, including a calendar for clarity and reference. Darlin' & Ruby are the best cats I have ever watched. Darlin' is beyond friendly, and while Ruby takes a few days to warm up to you, she eventually comes out to play and will politely tap you for your attention. The home was easy to maintain, and they were available for any questions or concerns ... MoreLarry & Cheryl were wonderful hosts to me. The community they are located in is also extremely safe & everyone is kind and helpful, even if you're just talking with the Amenity center staff. Whether you're just starting out or well-seasoned, this is a beautiful & enjoyable housesit worth taking on!

We've done several sits now for Larry and Cheryl and always enjoy our time at their beautiful house. Their sweet cat Ruby is easy to care for and although she sleeps most of the day she liked to hang out with us in the evening while we were watching TV. Larry and Cheryl left detailed instructions about the house and watering the plants, and always responded quickly when we had questions. We would be happy to sit for them again!
I couldn't have been happier with my time at Cheryl and Larry's place. They were very welcoming and took me to meet the neighbors before they left for out of town. Ruby was the sweetest cat. I seem to have broken her shyness. We became instant buddies. I enjoyed watching her bolt around the room when I would throw her toys. There was much to explore in the area including some interesting trails through the Petroglyph National Monument. I hope I have the opportunity to return one day. I've ... I've always wanted to return to the Southwest. I wasn't disappointed.

Larry and Cheryl were great! The instructions were in detail about what needed to be done regarding their sweet cats, Dixie and Ruby, and for the garden. They prepared a great meal for us the night before they left and introduced us to a neighbor in case we needed anything. Dixie and Ruby are the sweetest cats. They KNOW when it's time to eat, especially in the morning whether the alarm goes off or not. They love being brushed. You don't have to go get them, they come to you when they ...
