Our home

Rural farmhouse in the Shire
Over 275 years of Appalachian homesteaders have cultivated the land, been immersed in wildlife, and made additions to the house and barns of what we now call "Greenwood Farm". I will send pictures of all spaces you'll be enjoying while here, but there are so many inspiring views, you'll be delighted to see them irl. In addition to the house, there's a covered picnic table pavilion, treehouse, in-progress tiny house, stream ecosystem, orchard, vegetable, fruit, fairy and flower gardens, sports field (kites, soccer, rolling, etc) and lovely wildlife meadows with trails and interesting trees planted in honor or memory of our loved ones throughout our 15 acres. Dining room table, eat-in kitchen with several simple standard appliances, home theater with large couches, indoor and outdoor showers, washer/clothesline, well water, Starlink wifi, privacy, home library (including many Field Guide identification books to help you witness the species of the season), large board game collection, puzzles, tuned piano, craft room etc.

favoriteWhat we love about our area

Our cultivation of the native wildlife, gardens, and witnessing the seasonal bounty of beauty is our favorite part of living here. Lots of Amish, Mennonite and Christian grocery stores/farm stands near too. College town 20mins

The McKee family welcomed me, fed me, swam with me in their saltwater pool, played games with me, drew an excellent picture for me, and made me feel at home. They showed me the procedures and provided written copies with local contacts phone numbers. All of their pets are loving and intelligent. Rocky is the protector of the home. He is big and strong as I learned when he chased a fawn. The two cats, Jet and Willie, were very social and easy to care for. I love their place in the country.
