Looking for a responsible, trustworthy housesitter to enjoy our beautiful, secluded log home on 33 private acres in Kentucky. If you love quiet surroundings, nature, and a cozy home with modern comforts, this is the perfect getaway for you!

The Home:
• Spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom log house (2,400 sq. ft.) with a well-equipped chef’s kitchen
• Large walk-in shower (no indoor tub), plus an outdoor hot tub for relaxation
• Expansive back deck with a grill, burners, sink, fridge, TV, and recliners—ideal for enjoying crisp fall evenings
• Pull-down shades allow you to stay outside even during light rain

The Location:
• Just 10 miles from town, where you’ll find groceries, restaurants, and retail
• Peaceful and secluded with only one neighbor on the street
• Kentucky is breathtaking in the fall, with vibrant foliage, cool evenings, and plenty of scenic drives, hiking trails, and charming small towns to explore

The Pup:
• Meet Wallace, our sweet but shy Westie mix (30 lbs)
• He’s a little anxious at first but warms up once he gets to know you
• Low-maintenance: He has a doggie door and electric fence, so no need for long walks—just a little love and attention! (He likes to walk if you want to take him!)

What We’re Looking For:

A responsible, dog-loving person or couple who will respect our home and care for Wallace while enjoying the peace and beauty of our property.

If this sounds like the perfect retreat for you, we’d love to chat!

Wallace is a Westie mix who is pretty independent. He likes walks, but he has a doggie door and can take care of himself for some time if you are out.

medicationMedication/treatment required

He has some allergies so will need a pill at night, but he takes them easily.

Our garden

local_floristGarden or plant care

Average - Well, it isn’t very difficult because we have a riding mower, but we do have about 2 acres that may need mowing. If that is too much, just around the house is fine. We would also like you to water the vegetable garden if there is anything left to harvest. You are also welcome to eat whatever you grow.

Janet and Larry are excellent hosts: welcoming, gracious, and make you immediately feel at home. The impressive historic log home has 1870's legacy, yet has been expanded and thoroughly renovated to be completely modern and comfortable. The garden, and surrounding fields, hills, and valleys provide a serene, peaceful environment. Communication was top notch, responsive, and clear. Most fun of all was their Terrier "Wallace". Wallace was a fantasic dog. He was well behaved, smart and just a joy to around. We got a giggle everytime he rang his doorbell! The house and property were just amazing! There was tons of wildlife around, it was very peaceful and honestly we felt like we were the ones on vacation. The garden kept us busy with the zuchinni! We were giving them away in town and making all sorts of things with them. Janet was an extremely good communicator before, during and after. The detailed ... MoreWallace was a fantasic dog. The house was in a quiet peaceful country setting with a large deck, comfortable chairs and a beautiful view. We enjoyed watching the cattle, the deer and turkeys as well as the hummingbirds. The little dog, Wallace, was a delight. We would recommend this sit.
Thank you very much. It is wonderful to be away from home knowing your home is in good hands.
House and pet sitting for Larry and Janet in Kentucky was a wonderful experience! Their home is in a very private, peaceful, quiet location, yet still just a short drive to local shops and restaurants. I looked after Wallace - a well-behaved, small sized dog, who’s a dream to care for. During the day, he takes himself outside when needed, and he snuggled with me every night. He’s smart, expressive, and has a really sweet temperament. I stayed for 4 weeks, and there were no problems at ...
