We are looking for a non-smoking home, pet, and plant sitter(s) who love country living, nature, and especially love cats! We live on 5 acres of flower gardens, trees, walking paths, and a garden pond. We are looking for house sitters who love cats and value keeping our house and property clean, neat, and maintained as if it were their own home.
We live 8 miles from downtown Lincoln, NE - a vibrant community of 270,000 with all the cultural advantages of a university town (University of Nebraska). Lincoln provides a wide variety of activities including shopping, cinemas, libraries, antique stores, micro-breweries, parks, public golf courses, biking and hiking trails, live music and concert events, and many sporting events. Winters in Eastern Nebraska are typically mild with low snowfall. We can have some pretty cold temperatures but typically they don't last long.
Our home is a three-bedroom three-bath ranch-style home set on 5 acres. The road into Lincoln is paved. Our acreage is forested with many trees and large gardens, plus a variety of wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, and pheasants. Our backyard area includes large flower gardens, a large deck, waterfalls, and a pond full of water lilies and koi fish.
There are many sitting areas both inside and outside of our home. We have a fairly open floor plan on the main floor with patio doors off of the dining room opening to the deck area. Our living room is cozy and is a nice place to read. The kitchen includes two microwaves and a dishwasher. Downstairs we have a laundry room and a large TV room with a 60-inch flat-screen television and DVD player. We will provide Internet wire & WI-FI services, as well as Netflix and Prime Video services.
We have 2 cats requiring daily care, with one needing a insulin injection every other day. Billy Ray enjoys attention after he gets to know you.

This was a wonderful sit. Dave and Dorie gave great directions including a great walkthrough. Communication was great as well.
Their kitties were as personable as one could expect. Especially Tuffy who I swear forgot where he was going sometimes. Both of them just needed food water and especially some love.
The gardens, while they took some work, were a joy. Just sitting outside in them reading was so relaxing.
I would sit for Dave and Dorie again anytime.
