One bedroom condo with a stellar view of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Quiet neighbors all around. Ten minute walk to downtown Hood River. 300M internet suitable for remote workers. Some sporting gear (bikes, XC skis) included if you promise to take good care of them!

I'm going on a meditation retreat, and my indoor cat (Strava) would love to have your company. Duties: feed her, water her, clean her litterbox, and play with her. She's very friendly (more like a dog), and will most likely sleep with you. Strava recently had a seizure. She's fine, thanks for asking! She gets liquid medication mixed with food in the morning and at night with her breakfast and dinner. It's unlikely she'll have seizure (she's only had one), but comfort care is the response if she has one.

Requirements: no pets of your own; ability to entertain cat with laser or string or catnip mouse; capacity to enjoy yourself! If you like doing outdoor activities (hiking, road and mountain biking, skiing, golf, windsurfing, standup paddling, kiteboarding, etc.) this will be a good fit for you. I have to say this sit was fantastic! The Columbia River Gorge is one of my favorite places in the world! Temira was a great host and made me feel comfortable taking care of her home and sweet cat Strava. Her communication was perfect, her condo cozy and low maintenance, and conveniently located to everything! Temira was very thoughtful of my comfort and I appreciated that. I would definitely return and recommend to other sitters ;-D

We had such fun in Hood River and Temira's cat is a sweetheart. Temira's condo affords a view of the Columbia River, is an easy walk to downtown where there are so many wonderful pubs, breweries and shops. I do hope we can return and spend more time in this wonderful town and area. Thanks you, Temira and all the best!!

I enjoyed every day of my house sitting experience in Mt. Hood. That was my first trip to Mt. Hood and now I'm hooked. Her condo overlooks the interstate and has a direct view of a snow capped mountain (Mt. Adams) and the Gorge. She is a master gardener and has an amazing garden with drip irrigation that I watered a couple times. It was a very hot summer and pretty much a drought. The garden was full of peppers, tomatoes, lettuces and herbs. I belong to a community garden so I really enjoyed ... MOREI enjoyed every day of my house sitting experience in Mt. Hood. The garden was full of peppers, tomatoes, lettuces and herbs. I belong to a community garden so I really enjoyed the garden. Her ground floor condo is comfortable and has a studio feel. She has a separate bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed with a pretty bedspread. I forgot to pack my shampoo and conditioner and wish she had left some shampoo. Shad some farm fresh eggs and bacon in the fridge which were delicious. Yes I found the bacon and ate it all. Lol. Her small female cat is Strava. She is shy but sweet. It takes a cat about 5 days to warm up to a stranger so keep that in mind. I would spend the evening at the condo and put Strava on the wire and open the door so she could enjoy the fresh air and giant catnip plant outside the door which she would enjoy sitting in. One night a group of raccoons visited us and another a gaggle of pheasants. She must be supervised while she is outside because she can slip out of the collar and jump over the fence and run off toward the interstate. Strava has an automatic feeder and waterer which is convenient. She also enjoyed some wet food. The condo is located near a Walmart and skate park. It is a short bike ride to the downtown area and a 3 minute drive. The first day I arrived I had no idea where I was going but felt drawn to the scenic road the takes you to Mt. Hood. Wow! There it was! A giant beautiful magnetic white capped mountain! I was dumbfounded by the sheer size and beauty that I was compelled to drive all the way to the snow cap! Seriously! It was a very bumpy ride and it took a while. I don't recommend you do it unless you have a truck. (I don't.) it is surrounded by stunning fruit orchards, wineries, cideries and rolling hills. My favorite cidery was the Gorge White House. Oh my gosh they had every flavor of fruit cider! The cherry was awesome! So fresh and tart! I went there a few times as they had good hours and a direct view of mt Hood. I love that place. I tried another cidery and winery. The wine is expensive. Mt. Hood is such a unique place as it sits on the Columbia River and you can cross the green bridge into Washington. It is a toll bridge and it costs $2.00 each way. But it's worth it because there is a waterfall and water hole a little down the way not to mention amazing views of the Gorge! You can also hike Dog Mountain if you're feeling adventurous. One day I went exploring for waterholes and found a great place in an event park. The water was cold but refreshing and turquoise blue. There was a place where brave people jump off a cliff into the water below. It's fun to watch but no way I'm doing that! There was a cherry orchard nearby with fresh local cherries. It was a very hot summer and Temira does have an ac! I did run it one evening. I wish I had visited the lavender farm! I will next time! There are so many good restaurants that serve local food. The breakfast diner on the corner was exceptional. I ordered the crab omelette and they make fresh muffins. So good! They have the cutest toy store ever! Yes I love toys! A lot of cool shops to check out. And if you are the athletic type there are opportunities to surf, kayak, cycle or walk and lots of hills! Of course the best time to visit is not February! lol I throughly enjoyed every moment of my house sit experience! Thank you!
