Los Gatos California

We are seeking a dependable individual or couple stay at our house in exchange for looking after our small dog while we're away. Experienced, non-smoking individuals or couples with outstanding reviews from previous house sits welcome!

The house is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of historic downtown Los Gatos' shops, restaurants and movie theater; Vasona Lake and Los Gatos Creek County Parks; and St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve as well as a variety of grocery stores and coffee shops. We are about 30-minutes from Santa Cruz and one hour from San Francisco.

You will have access to high-speed internet, air conditioning, full kitchen, washer/dryer, all living areas, a full bath and a half bath, full-sized bed with memory foam mattress, and outdoor patio with gas grill. NO TV stations or cable channels.

We have one sweet, very calm and quiet dog (15 lbs) who gets along well with everyone. We request that she not be left alone for longer than about four hours at a stretch, only be fed the food we provide (no human treats), and be crated at night. She is 16 years old, doesn't hear very well and sleeps a lot, but can still jump around like a puppy (just for shorter periods of time) and will eagerly accompany you on a walk around the block. In addition to dog care, we ask that you bring in packages, take trash cans to the curb, water potted plants, keep us posted on how it's going, and leave everything in the same condition as you found it.

We want you to be as comfortable in our home as possible and hope the endorsements from previous house sitters are helpful. Beegie is a sweet elderly dog who still loves her walks. Whiskers, the cat is also elderly. She is undemanding except for food. Enjoyed our stay very much.

KARI ANN (Feb 2022); I highly recommend this very fun house sit. Deb and Leon are fantastic- great communication, welcoming and kind. Their home is lovely, comfortable, very clean and in a great location. It is close to many fun sites and activities. You can easily walk to a bustling down town area with many restaurants, shops and parks. Their pets, Whiskers and Beegie, are low maintenance and excellent hosts. Beegie is fun to walk and a true love. Whiskers does a lot of relaxing and enjoys the occasional gentle pet. They fit my idea of the ideal pets.

NORMA & TOM (December, 2019); All one could want - very nice owners, home, neighborhood and pets. Deb and Leon were great to pet sit for. Their house was very comfortable - well laid out, with design touches and everything we needed. Deb and Leon were personable and well organized - having a booklet with all the information about the house and pets as well as local markets, activities and events in the area. Deb was always available by text - quickly answering any questions. Red, Beegie and the cat Whiskers were easy and delightful to care for. The dogs enjoyed their walks and appreciated attention, but were fine relaxing and napping as well. Whiskers was shy but usually found in the living room - and enjoyed petting and neck rubs when offered. The neighborhood was quiet, tidy and convenient to markets, downtown Los Gatos and great hikes. We would highly recommend a pet sit here and hope we are able to come back and sit again if we are in the area.

SUSAN (Sept 2019); Deb & Leon are experienced and thoughtful hosts. They have a beautiful, comfortable home in Los Gatos and their pets are lovable and easy to care for. Their cat, Whiskers is even potty trained! Deb is very organized and provides detailed instructions, a daily check list, emergency contacts, and information about the area and maps of local walks. I absolutely loved my time there. They live in a beautiful established tree lined neighborhood where pride of ownership is obviously important to the friendly and gracious residents. I hated to leave and I look forward to sitting for them next summer. I highly recommend them to future house sitters.

GEORGIANA (April, 2019); This is one of my favorite places to house sit and I'm always sorry when my dates don't sync up with theirs. Deb is supremely organized, a great communicator, and is warm and funny. Her home is comfortable and in a great neighborhood with lots of shopping close by and friendly neighbors. You have to see the cat use the toilet to believe it, but believe it. The dogs are super friendly and easy to care for. Red is a big goofball and made me laugh every single day. Beegie will dance for Cheerios. Walks are fun with the two of them. Highly recommended!

JEANNE (Sep 2017); Deb has a lovely, sunny, clean home. She was a pleasure to work with - thorough and organized in her instructions and responsive to questions that came up while she was away. Deb's pets are extremely well trained. Her cat uses a toilet and is quite fastidious! Her tiny dog Beegie had me laughing wiping her paws before coming inside from the backyard and dancing on her hind legs when I prepared her food! Deb's big dog Red was born to love and over the moon when he gets some! They are the most obedient, easy-to-walk dogs I've cared for and were wonderful companions.

DOTTY (Aug 2017); WOW! Deb was very gracious and a great communicator! She's also wonderfully organized, which made things so easy to track. The pets were extra sweet to spend time with, both affectionate and well behaved! Our evening walks were much enjoyed in their quiet, well groomed neighborhood. What a beautiful, comfortable, well kept, and easy to care for home - I enjoyed a lot of quiet time in the outdoor living room/garden and the huge tub was also quite nice! Deb's hospitality made me feel like a special guest, and I would definitely sit for her again!

ELIZABETH (Jun 2017); Deb was over the top gracious and sweet in her welcome and providing detailed directions. As well as her unfailing support as needed throughout the time I was there. I have never experienced so seamless a sitting. Her family is friendly and her home is beautiful. A great experience!
