Rachel
I am looking for a responsible, clean cat lover(s) who will treat my home and pets the way they would want theirs treated. Preferably energy and environmentally conscious.
I conduct video interviews. I will send a link to the meeting. If it feels like a good fit I will then check references, and forward the contract/house care sheet. The whole process can take a few days.
Please do not contact me if you are not able to sit during the time advertised. To be honest the chances of me hitting you up next time I need a sitter are slim. The reality is it's easier to advertise and let those available respond then sending out a bunch of messages to individuals who may or may not be available.
Sitters will be required to sign a contract with me and send it along with a copy of photo ID before I will confirm a sit. Certainly the sitter will be able to see the contract and discuss with me pre-signing. If you are not comfortable doing this it's probably not the right sit for you. A sitter who promises to do a sit and then does not follow through puts home owners in a real bind. There needs to be protections in place. Likewise- in order to honor my commitment, should my plans change and I no longer need a sitter or for the time I expected, I will put the sitter up in my home if they still want to come or need a place, or reimburse their airfare if they bought a ticket. This is only fair and right for both parties but word alone cannot ensure things. Contracts are unfortunately necessary.
Verifiable pet sitting references are required (excluding family members)!
The cats are the #1 responsibility. There is about 20 minutes a day worth of cat care and plant watering that has to be done and it is expected that the sitter will stay the night at the house. Sitter may have to change litter during stay depending on length of my absence.
Please know my house is modest and old. It's clean, comfortable, quiet, safe, quirky, fun and in a great location but does not have many modern luxuries. I have no TV. There is wifi and AC/Heat and a washer/dryer. It's basic but happy and cheery and my Pete and Q-bert will make you smile :)
Downtown St. Petersburg is 18 mins away by car. We know have the Sun Runner which is a wonderful circle route between downtown St. Pete and the St. Pete Beach. The stop for it is a few blocks from the house. You can bring bikes on it. It's awesome! St. Pete Beach is 10 minutes by car or 25 minutes by bike. Downtown Gulfport where I live is 2 minutes by car. Uber and busses are available here. I have bikes. You can ride the bike to Downtown Gulfport in 10 minutes. There are little shops, restaurants, bars and a waterfront park there. It's very safe and adorable. There is a Tuesday fresh market selling produce and crafts in Gulfport.
Thank you for your time and understanding and I look forward to hearing from you!
