House and Local Area:
We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage located on a small farm in some of the prettiest pasture in our area. 20 min outside of Canton, TX where the famous First Monday flea markets are held every first weekend of the month which you can attend while you stay! Downtown is quaint with some quirky shops too. Walmart and Brookshires are the main grocery stops in Canton. The road we live on is quiet with only 3 other separate properties on our street. There are around 30 acres that you can hike though, and every night you can watch a beautiful sunset from the front porch.
My parents also live on the same property in their own home next door. They own the cows and chickens on the property, that you will NOT be responsible for.

Pet Care:
Feed, water, occasionally bathe and love on our one dog, Maverick (Mav).

Behavior:
He is a large gentle mixed breed (most likely hound/beagle), a rescue dog that is great with children, doesn't impose on people's laps and is very chill.
He is both an outside and inside dog. He typically stays within our property and comes home when called.
He sleeps and eats inside our house.
He doesn't like being left alone, and prefers being around people or other dogs (except the first house on our road that has more aggressive dogs).
He is wary of strangers, so when delivery trucks come we call him back in. Once we introduce him to strangers/new people he is very calm.

Daytime:
Since we live on a farm he doesn't require walking, but is let outside when he likes during the day.
He usually eats one big meal a day
Nightime:
We don't let him stay outside past 9pm and he is typically ready to go back out around 6 or 7am.

Plant Care:
4 house plants that need minimal watering
Water the flower beds every other day.

Who we are:
We are a family of seven, our kids age range 4-11. We came to live on our family’s farm while my husband recovered from Lyme disease, and finally after 2 years we would love to take our family on a much needed vacation.
We run our family business from home, so we do keep our products in part of the play/schoolroom.
We love learning more about the farm life from my parents and have enjoyed the quieter and safer neighborhood. There is still lots of fun to be had in the surrounding towns like private zoos, fossil dig sites, antique shopping, and we are only 45 min from Tyler where there are tons of restaurants and activities for outings. We just ask that you give Mav plenty of attention and several treats before you leave so he won’t be too sad, and not be gone longer than 4 hours max, or take him with you if you’d like to visit the state parks, just keep him on the leash.
