  • Mostly involved making sure a 240 acre home & parcel was secured from unwanted visitors. Daily patrols of out-buildings, perimeter patrols of two lakes and checking the entrance gates. There were no farm animals, but 2 Labrador retrievers and one mixed wolf dog were well cared for.

Retired couple seeks house sits with furry friends, wagging tails & purrs!

We (Rick & Anne) are a travel-loving couple who recently completed a home renovation, along with some handy smart tech (although we still prefer belly rubs and purrs over voice commands!).

We are always up for a walk ā€“ especially with a wagging companion by our side. We've been blessed with both dogs and cats over the years (those soulful feline eyes!), and understand the joys (and occasional chaos) of pet parenthood. Your furry family will be showered with love and attention!

Anne's a gardening lover with a knack for edible flora and beautiful flowers. Iā€™m a retired Air Force civilian with computer skills & home improvement tools (Anne wants me out of the house šŸ˜Š).

We enjoy exploring new places, keeping fit, tinkering with home projects, and meeting kind people like you. Non-smoking houses preferred.

Rick and Anne are the most genuine, nice people I've ever met. Our trip was a disaster from the start and unfortunately a big inconvenience for them and their plans, yet they were so kind and understanding. My dog took to them immediately I couldn't believe it. They took great care of him and he looked for them and pouted for 2 days after they left. Says it all.

We have been using Housesitters America for years, and have had over 15 pet/house sitters in that time. Rick and Anne were absolutely the best. By far! Our two cats, Mookie and Loah are shy, but within minutes Rick had bonded with Loah. And after a few days, even Mookie, who has never had anything to do with a non-family member, was playing and cuddling with him. OMG, what wonderful people. Warm, communicative, and loved my dogs. They had to to take care of one of my older dogs (14 years) and he was ill and died while in their care (a caretakers nightmare, I expect). I wish my husband and I had been home but if it had to be this way, they were the perfect caretakers. I know my dog, Rodi, was well cared for and loved.
