We have been retired for over ten years, both from professional careers in education. We love to travel and especially enjoy the west coast, as some of our family live there. We are immaculate housekeepers and would care for your home lovingly. We also love dogs and cats and would enjoy caring for them, as well as maintaining your home, both inside and out. Lawn and garden care are also of interest to us. We are non-smokers. Words to describe us would include honest, reliable and responsible. I can't say enough great things about Jan & Dave as cat/house sitters. They have watched our cats before, and they now our first choice whenever we want to travel, because they are so kind, responsible, and trustworthy. As on previous travels when Jan & Dave watched our cats, the cats were extremely relaxed and stress free when we returned. This time we asked Jan & Dave to administer ear medicine to one our cats, which is no fun for everyone, and they were great about it. We really appreciate ... MORE

This was first experience with Housesitters of America. Jan and Dave stayed at my house for 3 weeks. They treated my house like their own. The communication was wonderful. They are very trustworthy and professional. When we got home, it was just like we had never left our house ! I would highly recommend their services. I hope that they can sit for us in the future. We now have friends in South Dakota.

No rating Jan and Dave were great!! They communicated regularly and kept our dogs and home in great shape. They were repeatedly thanking us for selecting them when we were clearly the benefactors in the arrangement! As Covid-19 was ramping up, we kept in close and open contact about whether either of us needed to alter plans. We were comfortable knowing that if either they or us needed to shorten the trip, there would be no hard feelings. We have made some new friends and look forward to our future ... MORE

No rating This is the second time Jan and Dave have watched our two cats and our home, and they are a couple of the best cat/house sitters out there. I cannot say enough good things about the experience. The main reason I love having them watch our cats is because I know they love and take care of our cats as well as we do. No rating Jan and Dave did back to back house sits for us in September and were lucky enough to find a cruise for the time in-between. Our two dogs were very well cared for, loved and cuddled. When Dave and Jan returned for the second sit, both dogs ran up to them full of anticipation and joy. That was a nice testament. Both of them are clean, very responsible, and super trustworthy. I would not hesitate to recommend Dave and Jan to take great care of your pets and your house.

When they arrived, it was obvious that they loved animals. We had no worries during our trip, because we knew they were caring for our pets just the way we would, and periodically they sent us updates to let us know there were no problems. No rating It was such a delight having Jan and Dave house sit. They took wonderful care of Sigmund (the doxie) and left the house in great shape, even changing sheets and washing towels. A lovely couple, who enjoy seeing the country and making new friends along the way. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pet(s) and does not want to worry about the care of either animals or property. They were super!

No rating We had Dave and Jan sit out house and pets from July 22 to July 26 in 2017 and were very happy to have found them. They took great care of both the house and pets and we really hope to keep in contact with them in case we ever need again. We would highly recommend them and am glad we had the chance to have them help us out!!!

We returned to find our home in spotless condition with all bedding and towels washed, and a kitchen and fridge cleaned thoroughly. After such a long stretch on the road, it was wonderful to know all we had to do was move in. The downed limbs from winter storms had been picked up and placed in our designated pile.
