We’ve house sat for a solid year now! We began with providing elder and animal care when a friend of ours went on a cruise for 10 days. When our lease came up for renewal, we opted out to become professional house sitters! We had already become accustom to Nomadic and tiny-home living which was possible with working remotely. We both have older parents that enjoy our company between house sits, so we were able to take on house-sitting as a full-time edition to our part-time remote work!

We are both highly sensitive people, so animals like us and we have a knack for highly sensitive situations, like when an animal’s anchor person is gone for a long time, or caring for a rescue with insecure attachment to humans in general. We so enjoy, and many homeowners prefer, doing this as a couple for a variety of reasons, but mostly, the animals can lean on TWO of us, rather than one. And sometimes we have sits of 6+ animals including horses and chickens!

I can provide references from Trusted House Sitters which we used for the second half of our year-long house sitting career launch. We have 8 house sits on that app. The longer sits (one sit was 6 weeks with an elder German Shep) were word of mouth and we could provide two references via email if that is desired. We also have repeat “customers” in our area who rely on us for frequent travel.

We love being outside so walks with animals and gardening are a joy for us! We’ve both managed homes so we are adept at home management and related communication. We have no physical limitations and have total flexibility in our work schedules to adapt to animals’ unique needs. We can be in as little or as much communication as you need - we let you set the pace//take the lead, unless there is an urgent home or animal need.

You’ll see my daughter in one picture. She may be with me for a few days of a house-sit, but her primary living arrangement is with her Dad. Michael’s boys are almost full-grown men :) so they don’t come on house-sits.
