Ellen and I have been married for over 40 years and share many interests including a love for animals and travel (50 states and 52 countries). In 2022 we relocated from west Tennessee to southern Pennsylvania and we often visit northern Minnesota where our grandkids live.
We are healthy and active, up-to-date vaccinated non-smokers. Pet and house-sitting has been a great way for us to experience new places and meet nice people while providing loving care for your pets and home.
Over the years we've had several family pets who hold a special place in our hearts. During our travels we appreciated knowing our animals were well cared for by nearby family and our priority will be to provide that same level of care to you during your travel. We have owned many homes and will take care of your home the way we would want you to do for us.
We have done several sits as a couple: Idaho, Tennessee, New Orleans, Colorado, North Carolina and Stan has done solo sits in Kentucky, Colorado, South Carolina, Chicago, Connecticut, Virginia and Georgia.
Note: We are not available for sits extending beyond approximately two to three weeks.

Ellen and Stan could not have been more kind, caring and conscientious. After nearly 2 wks away my dogs were relaxed and content and the house was better than I left it. In addition, they are just all around pleasant people I feel blessed to have met.
Stan was absolutely amazing as a house sitter and watching after my dog Ines. The house was left very clean, he even emptied all the garbage cans! Communication was great, and I felt very safe for both my house and my dog. Would absolutely recommend Stan and would love for him to house sit again.
Stan did an amazing job taking care of our beagle, Red, and gave him even longer and more frequent walks than we had required. When we got home, Red was very happy and relaxed, a sign of attentive care and an experienced sitter.
Stan was a solid communicator. We were lucky to have him, He is a real dog-lover, and we recommend him to others.
When we returned from our vacation the house looked as good or better than when we left, and our cats were fine. Stan is a good sitter, and very attentive when it came to texting, sending photos, etc.
Stan was the best thing that could have happened for our needs. His flight was delayed initially, and he was very transparent and communicative about when he would be able to arrive to care for our pup. Unfortunately it conflicted with our own flights, so we never actually got to meet in person.

I can't say enough great things about Stan, and my dog Christopher would agree. I wasn't sure how my dog would react to a male housesitter but Stan was willing to work with him and confident it would work. Christopher let out one bark at him when he first arrived, but from that point on they became friends. I was so nervous about using a non local house setter and then ended up with a couple who exceeded every possible expectation. Stan and Ellen will care for your home and pet(s) with expertise and attention to detail. If you want to go away with no worries about things at home, you may get lucky enough to have Stan and Ellen sit for your beloved pet.
My little dog looked everywhere for Stan and Ellen after they left early in the morning. He misses them.

From the beginning he was great at letting us know when he'd be coming, etc. and didn't need anything from us. He even showed up with his own coffee maker!
He came the night before, to meet the dogs and so we could explain their routine. He also offered to drive us to the airport, which was kind, but not necessary.

Stan (Ellen wasn't able to come) did a wonderful job taking care of our home and animals. The dogs and horses were all content and healthy when we returned. He was very helpful in picking us up after our trip, and the house was clean and neat. He was a good communicator while we were gone and is just a great person! Ellen and Stan are the best house sitters I have ever had. Not only were they responsible nice people, but they are super organized, kind, love animals and have knowledge about Airbnb and how to host guests. I would love to have them again as I went away without any worries and had the space to completely enjoy my vacation. I give them 10 stars!
Stan and Ellen were more than we could have hoped for during our first experience with sharing our home to complete strangers. They talked us through the whole thing and followed through with their commitment to take care of our home and our furbabies. Three days after they left and I am pretty sure our animals are looking for them.

There aren't enough adjectives to describe this wonderful couple. They are extremely kind, considerate, helpful, understanding, accommodating and knowledgeable. They happily stayed in our home and went far and beyond our expectations with our animals. I can't say enough wonderful things about them. I would trust them in any situation. I never once worried about our house or pets while they were here. They have become our friends and we hope to see them again soon!
