I have been taking care of animals my entire life. I am an animal lover, of course! Now that I am traveling, I love the opportunity of caring for pets, plants, homes, because it gives me an opportunity to spend more time in an area, while experiencing the pleasures of being in a home with animals.

Hi,

I'm retired, and have started traveling, a lifelong goal. I'm currently in Guadalajara, Mexico, which I am loving!

Before I retired, I worked as an Art teacher for many years. I have also taught and tutored English. Prior to teaching, I was a personal assistant to a CEO of Risk Management in Manhattan.

Before I retired, I worked as an Art teacher for many years. I have also taught and tutored English. Prior to teaching, I was a personal assistant to a CEO of Risk Management in Manhattan.

I started traveling in June, 2023. First, I went to Antigua, Guatemala and stayed through June 2024. I spent most of my time exploring Antigua, with some visits to Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.

I returned to the states in June 2024 for my niece’s wedding in Cortez, CO, after which I applied to THS. I started pet sitting and had some great experiences caring for some wonderful pets, homes and people in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ojai, California. After four months I flew to Mexico City for two months and San Miguel de Allende for 3 months.

In April 2025, I came back to the U.S. and began taking care of some pets on the West Coast. My first THS sit here was in Point Roberts, WA, taking care of a cattle dog, Vaquita, and two cats, Ziggy and Suki. Point Roberts is a unique pene-exclave, my first! Vaquita enjoyed rounding up the seagulls on the beach, which was fun to watch, free range! The two kitties are adorable. Ziggy constantly walked around the house making sure all was well, and lap sitting whenever Suki would allow him. Suki claimed my lap after checking me out a day or two. Ziggy jumped on my lap as soon as I sat down first day! My second sit in this area was in Tacoma, WA, to care for a very sweet Malinois, named Dante. I also had so many wonderful THS sits in Portland, Oregon, where I stayed for a two months.

I have found that it is so much more enjoyable being in a home with pets and plants, when I'm traveling. For hosts I believe it is a comfort that their home and pets are well taken care of.

As of the end of September and beginning of October I will be looking for some house/pet/plant sits in some of the warmer states from fall until spring.

Pet care

I've been working through Trusted Housesitters since July 2024. I've had many wonderful experiences with all the pets and homes I’ve taken care of. I really appreciate the trust from the many hosts I’ve worked for, and I do my best to maintain that trust.

I really appreciate the trust from the many hosts I’ve worked for, and I do my best to maintain that trust.

I’ve worked with animals all my life, from petsitting to being a hot walker and groom at historic Keeneland Racetrack in Lexington, Kentucky, and Remington Park in Oklahoma City, OK. I have also volunteered at a couple of horse therapy farms in Upstate NY, Topfield Center in Cold Spring, NY and Sunrays, Inc. in Kingston, NY, as well as other volunteer activities in humane societies.

My lease in Guadalajara is up in August. I want to spend time in the States starting mid August. I would like to get some pet/housesitting in the Hudson Valley/Catskill area of NY, and Manhattan. I am also be interested in any place in the States that has a long-term sit, a month or more.
