I am a late-life doctoral student going for my PhD in philosophy in India. I need to be in the USA from June till August and I'm looking to housesit for parts or whole of that period.

favoriteWhy I love house sitting

My aunt had a lovely place in the Netherlands. She was a medical doctor and specialist in asthma. Whenever she had to travel she counted on me to take care of her house and two dachshunds (teckels as we called them). It provided me the peace and quiet necessary for my studies and writings.

I am of Dutch origin and emigrated to the USA in 1990. For the last 30 years I lived and worked in the Chicago suburbs. I have been studying philosophy on and off in my life and got my bachelors at NIU and Masters in Wales. Now I'm going for my PhD in philosophy in India, where I am currently staying.

Pet care

Cared for two dachshunds for a period of a few days to a few weeks. Admittedly a while ago, but I'm good with cats and dogs. Also two 5-week gigs in 2025 house- and dog-sitting.
