Hi there! We’re Joe and Lyndsy Paulick—best friends, happily married for over 40 years, and in great health. Together, we make up The Upstanding Sitters™️, and we’re here to give you peace of mind while you’re away.

A Bit About Us
Joe is the active one—he loves walking, playing with pets, exploring, and staying on the move. Lyndsy enjoys quieter hobbies like crocheting, knitting, sewing, painting, fishing, and working on the computer.

We love doing things together too—walking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, cooking, solving jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, and playing cards. Whether your pets need a playmate or your home needs a quiet, caring presence, we’ve got you covered.

Where We’re Based
We currently live in Oklahoma and spend a lot of time in Wisconsin, making travel easy across the U.S. We’re U.S. citizens with Global Entry and also hold permanent residency in Mexico.

Our Background
Joe is a retired State of Wisconsin investigator, former U.S. Marine, and Air Force reservist. He retired in 2017 after 32 years of service.

Lyndsy owned a mural and faux finish business and ran a manufacturer’s rep agency in the metalworking industry.

We’ve raised two amazing kids and are proud grandparents to three.

Why We House Sit
We chose early retirement to travel together, experience new cultures, and connect with others. House sitting lets us enjoy local life more authentically and meet wonderful people along the way.

Our Experience
We’ve owned and renovated five homes, so we’re handy with repairs and maintenance. We’ve cared for a wide range of pets—dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, even hermit crabs. We’re also experienced with gardens, flowers, and houseplants.

We’re clean, organized, and always follow your instructions. We’re careful, respectful, and treat your home like our own.

What We Don’t Do
We don’t drink, smoke, vape, or use illegal drugs. We never leave a mess and always respect your property, privacy, and pets.

Our Values

We live by the same principles. We’ll respect your home from the moment we walk in—shoes off, coasters used, towels hung, dishes done, beds made, house rules followed.

You’ll receive daily updates and quick responses. And yes, we’ll squeegee the shower doors, lock the doors, and take out the trash.

We believe in the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Lyndsy and Joe are wonderful! Our house was spotless when we returned home, and the garden was thriving. And they couldn’t have been any sweeter! They are simply the best - sign them on for a sit without hesitation!
