I offer some exchange opportunities for 3 month or longer caretaking assignments,depending on what is required.
I do charge a reasonable fee for shorter term assignments.
I am happy to discuss specific arrangements in a phone conversation, after we have gone over the details of the dates involved & what is required for your animal's care & well being.

Charlie is a gem who really goes the extra mile. This was our first house sit with Charlie and he came in the night before to accommodate our 6am departure the next morning and to learn the routine with our dog and two cats, one of whom gets medicine multiple times a day. Our animals took to Charlie right away. He has a gentle spirit and kind demeanor. We had a worry-free trip and came home to a perfectly clean house. Charlie was so wonderful! Our dog and cats were so relaxed and happy when we came home. The house was in great shape and he even went above and beyond to care for my garden in the heat. I really appreciated how focused he was on ensuring our pets were well taken care of. We took Louie on a practice walk together and it was so abundantly clear how much he cares about animals. I would definitely work with Charlie again!
Charlie was an excellent petsitter! He made instant friends with my dogs, and clearly enjoyed caring for them. He was a great communicator, making it easy for me to relax while I was away. He took good care of my apartment, and even slept in the small guest room so that my dogs would feel more comfortable having full access to my bedroom. I highly recommend Charlie's services!
Charlie was willing to come in a day ahead to "learn the ropes" about our pets & property. He was extremely conscientious about their routine & care. Despite over a week of nasty weather that prevented two rambuctious dogs from expending their energies outdoors, we returned to find everyone well cared for and the house in good order. Charlie kept us in the loop while out of the country and the dogs & cats loved him.
Charlie was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I were so relieved to find a trustworthy pet and house sitter. Our 2 cats and dog were completely relaxed when we returned, a clear sign they were well cared for. Charlie stayed in touch before and during our trip, sending updates and photos that helped this type-A traveler truly relax. He left our home spotless—stripping the bed, starting laundry, and even washing his towels throughout his stay. We’ve already booked him for future trips and hope ... Charlie is an amazing pet sitter. We could see from how chilled our pets were on our return and how much they loved Charlie that he goes above and beyond. Our Golden Honey had to go to the vets for a sensitive tummy and Charlie made sure that he took absolute care of that and Honey was back in good shape quickly. Charlie made sure he kept in close contact with us throughout our trip. We appreciated that. On our return it was fun to hear Charlie's personality assessment of each animal - very ... When I'm away from home, I always have had added stress from worrying about one of my two cats, Sugar, who is super bonded with me and is afraid of new people. Well, I now call Charlie the cat whisper because in less than 24 hours, she was approaching him for pets and even sitting on his lap! Charlie really is a pet person and exudes calm and caring that made both of them feel safe and happy. Charlie was a wonderful caretaker of our home, houseplants, garden and pets (dog, chickens, and guinea pigs) while we were traveling out of country for 10 days. He was a great communicator and obviously took pride in his care. We would absolutely use his services again the next time we travel.
This was our first time using Housesitters America. Charlie took care of our cat and many many plants for two weeks. Our cat and plants were the happiest we’ve ever found them upon returning from a vacation. We could tell they had been very well cared for by Charlie. Charlie left our home tidy and clean before he left. He is very communicative. Our neighbors didn’t report any issues while we were gone. I’m so thankful for the care Charlie provided to our furbaby, plants, and home.

We never used a house sitter and were a little nervous. Charlie was absolutely wonderful with our animals, our home and plants. He was great at communicating and we highly recommend him. We will contact him again for our next big trip. Thank you Charlie!!
We couldn't have asked for better house sitters than Charlie. Charlie stayed at our house for a month and watched our three labs. When we arrived home our house was spotless and the dogs were so happy and obviously well taken care of. We can highly recommend Charlie to come to watch your pets.

Since this was our first pet sitter experience we asked Charlie to arrive a day early which gave us all the confidence we needed to trust our loved ones were in good care. He followed all our instructions with care and even slept with our dogs, so they didn’t miss us. Our six tortoises were well fed and bathed and he cleaned up after them religiously. We plan to use him again.
Charlie is responsible and very flexible about new factors that arise during the sit or workmen who may arrive and depart on their own schedules. He is experienced at house sitting, charming with everyone he meets during the house sit, very neat, and perceptive about possible problems. Terrific person for the job.

Charlie did a fabulous job! Pretty sure our dogs didn’t even miss us. I have to say of all the pet sitters we've had Charlie will always be my go to! It was so nice not to have to worry about our fur babies and our home! Everything was in great shape, Charlie is a good honest man.
