My husband (Dan) and I are retired and we've been married for 30 years. In early 2015 we sold our upscale condo in downtown Minneapolis and now spend our summers on our 41' Gozzard sailboat. Currently we are sailing on the Great Lakes and expect to continue doing so for several more years working our way eastward to salt water. We can't live on the boat during the winter months so we are looking for winter-time house/pet sits (October-April).

In our prior professional careers, I was a Manager/Director of Technical Support in large corporations and Dan was a freelance writer. He has a passion for wine and cooking (also a sommelier) and has worked selling wine for many years so he can continue to expand his knowledge.

We've both grown up with animals-Dan on a ranch with horses, cattle, sheep, cats, and dogs and I grew up with dogs and horses. We've always had a dog until our last Airedale passed away in 2012. With our current sailing lifestyle, we have to opted to go without a four-legged friend for the time being.

We are non-smokers. We have received ten 5-star reviews from house/pet sits over the past few years through another service and we've been asked to return a number of times. I can confidently say we leave a house in equal or better shape than when we arrived.

Julie and Dan were wonderful caring cat sitters for our two cats. We received photos and reports on how the sit was going during our 5 weeks away. They were also very understanding when the house had some issues with hot water and heating. We would be happy to have Julie and Dan back again to care for Toes and Gray.

Julie and Dan spent the month of January 2018 house sitting my big, old Victorian and caring for my four spoiled felines while I enjoyed an extended vacation in Mexico. They did a wonderful job! Just before I left, my dryer broke down and I wasn't able to get the parts to repair it before leaving. When they arrived, Dan and Julie got them installed successfully so the dryer was up and running. Julie, in particular, managed to become a surrogate mother to my "problem child" kitty, Tara, who ... Julie, in particular, managed to become a surrogate mother to my "problem child" kitty, Tara, who pretty much tends to dislike everyone (except me). When the Minnesota winter dumped a solid 10 inches of snow, the two of them teamed up and rose to the occasion with shovel and snowblower. Julie kept me up to date with emails and a couple of photos...enough to be informative, but not so many as to intrude on my down time. I came home to a clean house and happy cats. I would not hesitate to recommend Dan and Julie. They are trustworthy, conscientious and responsible. I hope to have them housesit again for future vacations.
