Both my wife and I grew up on farms in Southern Iowa. We have had pets most of our lives. I worked for a decade as a livestock feed salesman and have cared from many types of farm animals. I love to ride horses when I have opportunity. But... we don't do reptiles. Sorry.
We've been married for almost 50 years and home owners for most of that time in rural, small town, and urban settings. We now live in a suburban townhouse which allows more freedom to travel. I served as the pastor of a Christian church for more than thirty years and now travel to train pastors in places where training is not readily available. We enjoy good health. We've both traveled throughout the US as well as internationally.
We both love to travel but most enjoy being in a home with something worthwhile to do. Caring for someone's home and pets provides a cost effective way for us to travel and meets a need someone else has. We love it! We are both tidy and we try to be the kind of house sitters we would have care for our home. We're both non-smokers.
Our life is changing and we anticipate being more available to travel.

Mike and Jill are superb house sitters. They integrated into the community, got to know some of our friends and neighbors, and took perfect care of our little dog. We would love to have them back as sitters again and they have a standing invitation to come back and visit anytime. If you are lucky enough to get them to care for your pets you will not have a better experience.

No rating Mike was a wonderful housesitter! Our dog, Galette, took to him as soon as they met, and was sitting at his feet shortly after his arrival! Mike returned the attention! Mike kept us informed of their activities together via emails and photos. While we were away Mike had a death in the family, but felt an obligation to stay with Galette instead of me making other arrangements for her care. No rating Mike and Jill were the consummate class act in house sitting. Open communication, patience, and sweet consideration for the challenge of getting out of town with two busy children under foot. The house was certainly in better condition when we came home than when we left, which we appreciated very much. The cats don't talk much but they seemed very content as well. Highly recommend!
