We are a fit and active semi-retired couple experienced in house sitting since 2010. Conrad is a retired research scientist from the University of Michigan, and I, (Josie), am a freelance writer.
Each year we plan our house sitting adventure: sometimes many strung-together sits to circumnavigate the globe, or other times to stay in one place for months at a time to get the real flavor of a place. We love house sitting!
Any outdoor activity attracts us, such as kayaking, bicycling, hiking, or just sitting on the veranda. While house sitting we have taken care of an off-the-grid home as well as many lovable pets and farm animals. It's hard to say good-bye to our new friends at each house sit!
I have cared for huge gardens and enjoy looking after others' varied plants and vegetation. I'll even prune your bushes. We have owned many homes, have renovated flooring and kitchens, and know when something's out of whack! We like keeping busy--Conrad's the ALWAYS-busy one--and would be honored to look after your home.

This was our first experience with Housesitteramerica and I didn't know what to expect when we left the country for a whole month. Josie and Conrad were fantastic, from the very beginning, and they would be welcome in our home any future time. There were huge storms after we left and I was updated regularly about how the home and garden was faring. Josie and Conrad were amazing house sitters. They took such good care of our two dogs, even took Bella for her monthly visit to the groomer. They were very concerned about her comfort and noticed she was scratching a lot so took her to the vet for a shot to relieve that condition. Drought conditions here were a challenge for them but they did their best. Josie made dinner for us when we had to come back to get ready for another trip. It was delicious.
