Hi!

We are Rick and Rory Ackerman, both retired business professionals, and currently living in Columbia, SC, USA. We are experienced house sitters. We are in excellent health and NON-SMOKERS. We thrive on traveling the world, having a variety of memorable experiences, and especially meeting new people. We both have university degrees and, although we are not fluent, can get by in Italian, French, German, and "Aussie English" (even a little Greek). We pride ourselves on our sense of humor, too! We love to laugh.

Though we don't currently have pets of our own, we carry treats with us wherever we go--you never know when you'll meet a new friend. The neighborhood dogs and cats know us well.

We will go just about anywhere the house sitting opportunities are! We don't require much other than a comfy bed, reasonable proximity to local amenities (like a grocery store), a washer/dryer, and a reliable internet connection. Although we drive to our house sits, we take advantage of public transportation if available. Our references will attest to our trustworthiness.

We travel extensively (at least three to six months each year). We avoid hotels, preferring to rent apartments where we can better experience the local culture. House sitting adds wonderful variety to our choices and experiences; not having to pay for lodging during a house sit enables us to travel for longer periods of time. PLUS, we'd get to meet you!! We LOVE dogs, cats and birds; but can't have our own because we travel so much (wouldn't be fair to them). So we'd love to temporarily adopt yours! We are also capable of administering meds if your pets require it.

We have been homeowners for many years, and not only know how to take care of a home but also perform minor repairs, should the need arise. We are very well-organized, make friends easily, and don't get flustered when things don't go exactly as planned. We will bring the utmost professionalism, strong work ethic, and respect for your property and the environment. In other words, we will treat your home as if it were our own. We have owned and cared for dogs, cats, and birds (we miss them) and will make every effort to transfer our love to your pets!

We are available for interviews: in person, if not too far away; via SKYPE or Facetime otherwise. We've been selected for several sits after phone/SKYPE interviews.
