We're Jordan & Lucy, a writerly couple who live in the northeast & teach remotely. We've been using HouseSitters for the last five years, mostly taking care of small farms, and we've really enjoyed all the people & places we've gotten to know!

In the past, we've taken care of goats, chickens, cats, dogs, pigs, cows, donkeys, and fish. Currently, we're looking for longer housesits that offer a good bit of solitude, wilderness, and/or loveable animals.

Jordan is originally from North Carolina, and Lucy is from New York City. Jordan grew up with dogs and pigs; he has volunteered on farms across Thailand and managed a small farm in New Zealand. And Lucy grew up with cats, raised chickens, and spent a few years looking after goats.

We live a pretty simple life. We don't have pets, don't smoke, and don't eat meat. We're both COVID-vaccinated & boosted. If we seem like a good fit, chances are we'd love to get to know you and your pets/farm/home. So send us a message!

Jordan and Lucy are wonderful house sitters as well as kind and caring people. We throughly enjoyed meeting them and spending time together before we left on our trip. Although we were not at home when they left they kept in contact with us and we felt comfortable having them hand it over to the next sitters. Jordan & Lucy were wonderful sitters for our fur babies Spike and Honey. They took such good care of them we were able to enjoy our trip West without worrying. We were able to contact them if we needed to, and they sent pictures of our "kids" from time to time which we greatly appreciated. They also took great care of our home and property!

What a comfort it is to leave house and canine kids in the care of reliable, competent and caring people! Jordan and Lucy are extra-special sitters. They spent time with us to walk thru the house and routines. They communicated regularly with us while we were away. They handled a snowstorm and shoveled snow, even creating a fun dog run through the deep snow for our small dogs. The house was left clean and orderly. Jordan and Lucy are personable and well-educated people (she's a teacher and he is continuing his studies at Yale). They left our house looking better than when we left, and somehow managed to coordinate the blooming of many flowers (our trip was during the spring). The best thing though was how our cats were relaxed around them, as shown by the photos which were sent to us almost daily. We would be more than willing to have them house-sit for us again.

Lucy and Jordan took great care of our home and our cats. They were very easy to communicate with and we appreciated the photos and updates they sent about how our cats were doing. The house was left very clean and they handled our town's complicated recycling rules well on trash/recycling pick up day. We would absolutely ask them to house/pet sit again!

They already had plenty of experience in caring for farm animals and pets before their 6 week stay with us. No rating Jordon and Lucy spent a week at Lansdowne, taking care of our large flock comprised of 60+ chickens, 14 peafowl (peacocks/peahens/peachicks), seven ducks and three guinea fowl. Not to mention, two very spoiled dogs and a parrot. My flock is truly free-ranging, and not only requires the expected food and water, but they demand attention as well. No rating Jordan and Lucy took very good care of our house and our cat, including giving the cat subcutaneous fluid. They communicated well with us both before and during the sit. Everything was clean and tidy upon our return. They were also delightful guests (we had them stay with us the night before the sit began).

No rating Jordan and Lucy were excellent pet sitters. They were kind, communicative, inspired trust and kept me updated on Jack's well-being by sending me pics, videos, and texts. They took excellent care of the house and Jack was clearly very well loved. I felt very fortunate to have found them.
