Hi! We are Wendy and Terry Humphries, aka The Roaming Humphries'. In 2019, after 20 years in Austin, Texas, we decided to leave our ordinary lives behind to embark on an odyssey which has so far brought us through 28 states and on to a new career and a new life. After spending several months driving the back roads of America, we are ready to slow down a bit and delve deeper into the places that we visit- and to take the time to work on our documentary projects- by spending time looking after the homes of people who are off experiencing their own adventures.
Over the 27 years that we have been together, we have enjoyed the companionship of our dog, Daisy, and Zorrie, the cat that Daisy adopted for us six months before she passed away. We have long maintained that pets make the best people, and we care for and about them accordingly.
A hobbyist woodworker, Terry has a good deal of experience in home maintenance and repair. Wendy, after years in theater and project management, has the organizational skills necessary to care for any property.

What a lovely couple! I genuinely felt that my dog was truly loved by them. She was very well taken care of as were my plants. I felt 100% comfortable having Terry and Wendy in my home.

Wendy and Terry were wonderful! They were very responsive in their communications, flexible with our needs and did a fantastic job caring for our home and fur babies.
Terry and Wendy were so kind and easy to talk to. They updated us often with pictures and updates on our cat Marie. Terry even saved the day when we forgot our 1 year old daughter’s travel stroller and drove it all the way up to airport before our flight departed. They left the house tidy and Marie content; couldn’t ask for more. Thank you both very much, and we would be glad to see y’all again in the future! All the best!
Wendy and Terry were great. We came home to two happy pups and a well-maintained home, which is all you could ask for. They were fast to respond if anything came up. Highly recommend!
Wendy & Terry were great house sitters. Our 2 cats were well taken care of & the apartment was spic & span when we returned. We would certainly have them sit for us in the future.
We sincerely appreciated Wendy and Terry's long house sit with our two pets. It was very obvious to us that our pets were lovingly and well cared for in every way. Upon return it was obvious was well cared for and everything was in good order. We especially appreciated Terry's extra effort in retrieving and forwarding our mail and ordering a part for our coffee maker. They are a personable and responsible couple. Our friends and family think it's such a crazy idea, leaving our house and dogs in the care of "strangers" we find on House Sitters America, but it always turns out to be a great experience. Meeting Wendy and Terry was no exception. They weren't "strangers" for long—they're such warm, engaging people we loved getting together with them and felt totally comfortable having them care for our canine kids while we visited our human ones. Wendy and Terry are wonderful house and pet sitters. My animals fell in love with them and my house was taken care of as if it were their own. We were gone for 28 days and they managed everything beautifully. My dogs have missed them ever since they left.
They are very friendly, trustworthy and relatable people. I hope I get to have them sit for us again. In addition I hope I get to spend some time with them while they are still in the Denver area.
Our dog, Marley, was healthy and happy upon our return. Wendy and Terry took her for walks and got the mail while we were out, They adhered to her strict feeding and medicine schedules, as asked, too. Terry made us breakfast tacos the day we left and they were both incredibly friendly and talkative. They left us an orchid as well as a parting gift. Thanks!
Wendy and Terry Humphries we're great Housesitter's. They took excellent care of our golden doodle, Lexi and our house. We came home to find clean sheets and towels. They also brought us and picked us up from the airport which was very helpful.
Wendy and Terry were the perfect sitters! They arrived on time (I'm always nervous until I see the whites of their eyes.) Our dog and cats adjusted to them immediately-not always the case with a chihuahua! The house was clean and dinner ready - what more could you ask? A++
