Susan & Jim

Hello! We are a dynamic, loving couple writing another chapter in our lives. Animals have been a part of both our families since childhood. Jim grew up on a 100 acre dairy farm in Upstate New York and worked in I.T. for 33 years. Being surrounded by animals continued as he bred and raised golden retrievers for many years while raising a family. Susan's early life was an adventurous mix of suburban living and traveling vacations around the US and abroad. Her careers were a unique mix of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, wine & culinary arts, and Doctor Chinese Medical Qigong for animals and people (high level show horses, dogs and their equestrian riders).
After meeting later in life, Jim and Susan owned and operated a 6500 sq. ft. Bed & Breakfast (The Beattie Sanctuary) on 27 acres in Cazenovia, NY. We managed and cared for the property ourselves, operating many pieces of large equipment and tending perennial gardens and trails that wrapped the entire home and property front. We had a large outdoor in-ground pool and pond with amazing wildlife adorning us on a daily basis. We regularly received 5 star compliments for our 3 course breakfasts and luxury accommodations.
Our children are now grown with kids of their own and we both said good bye to our parents years ago. We retired to The Villages, FL and finished caring for the last of our aging family animals, a horse named TC, and a cavalier King Charles spaniel named Madeline last year.
We started pet sitting this year with a well established group in our community. It has been wonderful to host a variety of dogs in our home and have the luxury of it being a temporary visit. We carefully pick and choose our guests, making sure it is the perfect fit based on the needs of the animal and its owner(s). Our schedule is our own giving us the flexibility we prefer.
After enjoying this new found freedom, we are seeking to combine our love of travel, animals, nature, and discovery with our genuine desire to be of service.
We were raised in the era of weekly chores, respecting your elders, caring for your belongings and being a respectful guest in other peoples homes.
We are well traveled and always receive kind and thoughtful comments about the care we gave while staying at a hotel, AirBnB or friends home.
We appreciate your consideration and look forward to providing you peace of mind while you travel.
