Safe house!
A sitter in your house is the best form of security for your home while you're away. It's 100% free to place a job ad.
I've done both paid and free housesitting. It depends on the circumstances, but as long as there's wifi I can earn money anywhere.
38, TV/Film Music
I do TV/film audio/music (using headphones) and can work from anywhere as long as I have decent wifi. I love animals but don't currently have any pets of my own. I'm entirely sober and keep to myself mostly. I may strum an acoustic guitar occasionally during the day, but I'm quiet, neat, clean and keep to a schedule. I've been told repeatedly by owners that their house was cleaner after I'd been there, which is apparently daunting to those expecting an archetypal musician cliche.
I prefer longer stays where I can find the rhythm and get in tune with a place. I have done a LOT of housesitting, dog-sitting, cat-sitting over the years and I have many references, however I'm new to the housesitting-app world. I had no idea what I was missing. I've lived in a secluded cabin the past couple years. I might've outdone Thoreau in my last stint of solitude (I had electricity and running water, which was kind of cheating).
In addition to cats and dogs, I've taken care of birds, fish, rabbits, hermit crabs, lizards, snakes, hamsters, mice, ferrets, and probably more that I can't think of. I trained wild Canada Geese to eat out of my hand at the last cabin. My great-grandfather who died when I was a kid had a farm. I haven't done much farm work since I was a kid, but I'd like to learn. I love farm animals. I love all animals. And plants. And trees. And mountains. And beaches. I love nature and music, and the two go hand-in-hand.
I'm not exactly a handyman, but I have learned a lot over the years as far as upkeep, repairs and home maintenance. Should I mention I only have one eye? Animals don’t mind. It doesn’t affect driving or anything else really, except sometimes people look at me weird so I often wear sunglasses. I have a reliable car and look forward to traveling the U.S. again. I grew up in the southeast and spent many years in California. I've zigzagged across this beautiful country a few dozen times, and I love every part of it. I can go anywhere.
