My wife and I love animals and are down-to-earth people. We would love to be able to call your home our "home away from home", giving us an opportunity for new friends (you and your animals) along with travel adventures. Our favorite activities are museums, concerts and theater productions, as well as visiting gardens, architectural and historic sites. We would be happy to combine our travels with caring for your home and pets, allowing us a place to relax and enjoy as well as a base for exploring the area on part-day trips. I was a dealer of collectibles and my wife worked for the Post Office. We don't party or smoke.

We have had our own dogs, cats and other animals over the years, although now we don't have any in our home. We chose not to get another after our last one passed, so that we would be free to travel without having to put our family pet into boarding or another stressful situation. We have been caring for other people's pets since 2018, and have many top-notch reviews.

We are responsible, clean and friendly older adults, that will care for your place and your pets as if they are our own. We are able to judge whether an unexpected situation is something we can manage ourselves or requires outside help - we never want to put the well-being of your pets in jeopardy.

We will consider sitting in any locale, including outside of the U.S. Our rates vary by locale. Sometimes we are just looking for a vacation and will sit for free in exchange for accommodations. Inquiries are welcome.

This was our first experience using House Sitters of America and we had some reservations about leaving our pets and home in the care of folks that we didn't know. The first sitter we chose had to cancel due to a health concern, so we had to repost our ad. Imagine our delight when Martin and Vivian answered our ad. This was our first experience with House Sitters America and Vivian was the best person for the job. Our kitties are young and quite dependent on us and we've not been away from them longer than a couple days so my mama heart was really nervous to leave them for 2 weeks. We can't say enough good things about Martin and Vivian. They took great care of our home and animals,(dogs, chickens, and cattle). They even went an extra step to deal with univited guests in the chicken coop! They sent us updates morning and evening, with pictures. This 2020 trip was postponed due to covid, but we we kept in touch with Martin and Vivian and were able to plan our 30 day cross country adventure for 2021. Martin and Vivian pet sit for Little Kitty first in the summer of 2018, and were fantastic! When I knew I would be traveling a lot again in the summer of 2019, they were the first people I got in touch with to see if they'd be interested in coming back. Martin and Vivian were very responsive before and during the house sit, and seemed to genuinely care about animals. They left the house in excellent condition and the cats seemed well and happy on my return. When we all first met, they asked all the right questions and connected immediately with both cats. It is never easy to leave your fur babies with someone else, but I had no concerns once I met Martin and Vivian and think all went well on both sides.

Martin and Vivian were perfect house sitters! They made sure that their travel plans and all the details of their trip were understood before they arrived, and took excellent care of my cat and my apartment. I got daily updates from them with photos and videos, and was pleasantly surprised that my very shy cat came out to greet them on day one!
