Shorter-term local sits are now being considered!
Hello. I am a self-employed professional publication designer
in the non-profit sector ie. I charge less! Haha. I am a published poet as well. In my spare time, I love to learn something new.
My office is my laptop and I am able to work wherever there is a stable and speedy internet connection. This is my only requirement. I will say that a suitable desk and chair is preferred to the dining table. Oh, yes and #1 priority is AIR/Water quality. Thank you!
Personally, I am aunt to three amazing nephews in TX and one outstanding niece so my roots are in the states. I lived as a long-term house-sitter in Costa Rica in many diverse, extreme and isolated conditions for four years. Then, in my own rustic cabina in a remote rural pueblo for three years.
Beginning November, 2017 I traveled back and forth from Costa Rica to San Antonio, TX to care for Mom who passed away in June, 2018.
After a short break to help a project plant 5,000 trees in CR; I traveled to Washington, D.C. for a few weeks, then back to an Organic Coffee Farm in a different part of CR. Three months in Utopian but polluted Patzcuaro, Michoacan, MEX is where I decided to add Priority #1 Air/Water Quality to the list! Yikes.
I have owned and maintained several properties from a five-acre lot near Wickenburg, AZ that needed irrigation repairs and a fire border during a summer drought to a 2,400 sq. ft. suburban home in an upscale gated community in San Antonio, TX that simply required someone to be present for regularly scheduled maintenance. I've always taken care of my own yard and cleaning but if you have someone you trust, I am happy to share the fun.
The most recent sit was in northern New Mexico Mid-February, 2021 for just a few weeks. It was the high-desert home of a friend and neighbor in a local intentional community. I can now add "loves playing snowplow" to the resume. Total disclosure: it was only from 4-6 inches and the sun came out the same day.
I prefer long-term positions but I am now considering local, shorter-term sits and am happy to help with marketing a rental property in exchange for a % of the income.
Rest assured, your home will be well cared for. Sweeping and dusting are two of my favorite pass times. I can also be counted on for inspecting and addressing weather, locale-related risks like leaks, mold, insects, etc. or hiring a professional as needed.
I've lived in some of the most dramatic and most beautiful places in the world (in a house). Each area presents its own set of challenges. I look for what is an emergency and what is just a cyclical balance of nature. I've found it's better to live with the natural surroundings and let them work for you wherever possible.
If you understand this concept and others like it, we will get along great!
I know from experience multiple-home ownership can be a source of joy as well as anguish. It's my job to make it more of the former.
Call or e-mail anytime to start a dialog about what it is you need and what I can do about it.
As I tell my clients: I'll be here, wherever here might be.
All the very best!
Review from Linda F. - New Mexico
If you are looking for a house sitter you can trust who brings warmth, care, focused responsibilities to your home Jessica is that person. She not only treats my home with loving care, she is affectionate toward my cat and sends me photos, leaving my home as nicely as when I left or better. If she is not sure about something she will text me and keep in contact lightly for updates.
I highly recommend Jessica for she is trustworthy and my mind is at peace when she is here.
