Joe and I have taken care of animals in our home and at their homes for several years. We were 5-star rated pet sitters on Dog VaCay, now Rover. Traveling to new areas and staying with someone's beloved critters in their preferred surroundings is such a win win for everyone!
One of our past pet sitting trip was to Los Angeles/Venice Beach to take care of Dexter, a very large -114 lbs mixed breed. Walking him was so much fun and he was a real cuddle bug at home! After a month, we didn't want to leave. Summer of 2018 we did a 10 day sit in Brevard, NC with Molly who loved to go hiking with us. In Groton CT we took care of 4 fun dogs for two weeks. Lastly, we did 4 weeks in Ocean Shores WA with 4 fun dogs who loved daily walks on the beach.
Summer of 2019 found us in the suburbs of Salt Lake City for a month taking care of Wallace - a sweetheart Rottweiler/Lab mix. Lots of hiking days with him!
July of 2020 we spent in Buffalo taking care of Mulu the siamese cate. She liked to talk to us while we were fixing dinner and she was in her "catio window" in the kitchen.
In spring of 2021, Ella kept us busy in Weaverville where we enjoyed walking the lovely neighborhood with gorgeous flowers in every yard and mountainviews.
We spent 10 days in 2022 in downtown Chattanooga with Percy the pug who could take the longest walks ever! Twice a day we walked the city around the river front and the aquarium! What a personality he had!
Another activity we enjoy is pet transport. Animals from one area of the country that are adopted by someone in another state need people who can drive part of the distance and hand off the animals to someone who drives the next leg. Eventually, the animal ends up with their new owner! It is fun and rewarding and we try to do it as often as we can.
At home, our neighbor has a teacup poodle that we take care of on a fairly regular basis. Pippa is a lap dog and we have a good time with her.
While I have no pictures of us with cats, we had three cats ourselves for many years and have taken care of cats for friends and relatives as well.
We have talked about getting a bird (we had a java rice finch once, and we each grew up with parakeets) but we like to travel so at this time, we have no pets.
Let us know how we can help you plan your perfect vacation, knowing that your pets are cared for as well as your home, plants, etc.
Looking forward to meeting some new people around the country!
