We have been professionally house and pet sitting since 2018.
We spent a couple years abroad on Working Holiday Visas house and pet sitting in New Zealand and Australia. Back home in the states, we have been house sitting in New Mexico and Colorado using TrustedHouseSitters.com and the Rover app.
We are non-smokers, vegans, and we love all animals--especially dogs! We have enjoyed house/pet sitting over 30 times throughout New Zealand and Australia with all sorts of animals. Our record is looking after 34 animals in one sit!
We met in Austin, Texas, USA in 2016 during a green building volunteer program where we constructed tiny houses for the homeless population and renovated homes for low-income residents in the city. We both have a lot of hiking trail building/maintenance and chainsaw thinning/timber stand improvement experience, having worked professionally with non-profit trail work organizations in the past.
DAYL has a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Agriculture & Natural Building while RAND has a dual-major Bachelor's degree in Sociology & Psychology. DAYL is originally from the greater Chicago-land area and RAND is from Reno, Nevada.
We love to live an active life full of the outdoors, recreation, and new experiences. We live in a quiet but adventuresome way, always working to balance a healthy and mindful lifestyle with fun and spontaneity. We are self-starters who require little supervision and don't mind being left to ourselves. We are a couple of curious and respectful people who love to work and travel together.
*Also, we both have valid police background checks and we have our own car that we will be traveling in, so transportation is not an issue.

Rand was an outstanding house Spey and house sitter. He sent me several updates on walks and playtime with my dog Gunnar. He fed and gave Gunnar his meds. The house was throughly cleaned including floors and he even laundered the bedding and towels. I enjoyed meeting him and highly recommend him. He also communicated arrival and departure times. He is great with dogs. He really loves animals.

Dayl and Rand were low key but diligent and attentive. We came home to an immaculate house and two happy and relaxed dogs - that was all we asked. Dayl sent us doggie pictures and videos from time to time which we enjoyed. She managed the dog medications perfectly. They were flexible with some last minute scheduling problems, which we also appreciated. We highly recommend this responsible couple.
Dayl & Rand looked after our home and our dog Nase while we went overseas.
We had to change our travel plans due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions being put in place. Dayl & Rand were extremely accommodating during this stressful and unusual situation. Dayl & Rand put our dog Nase before their own travel plans, staying with Nase for as long as they could.
Dayl & Rand were amazing with Nase he had some new favourite balls and he clearly missed them once they were gone.

Dayl and Rand came and cared for our four dogs for three weeks. We were really appreciative of their level of communication with us while we were away...as heavy rains had changed quite a few plans. They were completely adaptable and took our dogs for frequent drives and outings. Dayl & Rand were great House Sitters for us. They looked after our house well and we came home to flourishing plants and strawberries. Lexie was super relaxed when we returned that confirmed to us that she was in safe hands with Dayl & Rand. Dayl and Rand went above and beyond while house and dog sitting for us. We came home to a house that was cleaner than when we left and our plants were healthier and even bearing fruit. Sadly we couldnt convince them to stay with us longer! We felt so lucky and relaxed having them looking after our home and our beloved Bua. If only they would stay to live in Melbourne!!
Dayl and Rand were absolutely fabulous. They looked after my greyhound Jenny only for a couple of days but they did an awesome job. House was left clean, Jenny was well looked after, they were great to communicate with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
5 stars all the way! We couldnt be happier with their attention to detail, the house was spotless on our return including bedding washed! Most importantly our cats were perfectly cared for and loved- very high recomendation!
Dayl & Rand looked after Harvey for 2 weeks whilst I jetted off to India. Harvey is 14 & is much happier at home than anywhere else. They walked him twice a day, he doesnt need long, & looked after him wonderfully well.
The house was left spotless & communication between us was easy. I would highly recommend them for future sits. All the best to you both!!!
Dale & Rand were wonderful housesitters.. They looked after Bonnie really well. She would have loved all the running and going to the park. They sent us weekly updates and photos of Bonnie. It gave us such piece of mind to know she was in safe hands.
