Howard and I are a well-traveled couple who understand the need for respecting property that does not belong to us. We have had both cats and dogs in our lives, as well as children and grandchildren. But there is still a large part of the USA that we would still like to visit and explore and housesitting is the ideal option for us to be able to do this.
We are early risers and very flexible. We are English so we love to take care of the gardens and indoor plants too.

Our arrangement was simple: look after our dog, keep things clean, and look after our home. Unfortunately, during Stella and Howard's 38-day house sitting stint, our expectations were far from met. Meticulous pre-trip preparations were disregarded. Our dog is alive but was overfed while we were away, and the house, though intact, was left incredibly filthy. Stella and Howard came to our home for an entire month while we traveled to Italy. We adored them when we spoke on the phone first for the better part of an hour. Amazing communicators. They arrived the day before and we showed them around and then made dinner. A perfectly enjoyable evening to get to know them better. Stella loves to garden and was out every day. Stella and Howard were an absolute blessing during our trip to Turkey. Their care for Aggie, our beloved dog, was exemplary. They showed an incredible level of attention and detail in looking after him, and it was heartwarming to see the bond that developed between them and Aggie.
