Rachel

I love spending time with animals, and they tend to love me. I'm deeply familiar with cats, can lovingly care for dogs as well, and am happy to learn how to care for your chicken, snake, bunny, llama, etc. I have a little experience with mini-horses.

My experience with cats has included caring for older cats with serious health problems, including renal insufficiency, cardiomyopathy, and nervous conditions. I am comfortable giving pets pills, medication via dropper, or subcutaneous fluids. I am also comfortable trimming cats' claws.

Even shy or nervous animals tend to take a liking to me, maybe because I always approach animals with respect, letting them get to know me on their terms. I believe in trying to see situations from the animal's point of view. The fact that I work online means I'd be spending plenty of time at home during business hours, keeping your pet company as I work. I usually seek out somewhat longer petsitting assignments (a couple of weeks or more).

I work online, and petsitting/housesitting provides me with opportunities to travel and take my work with me. I am fully vaccinated and boosted.

When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking, visiting museums, absorbing all the podcasts, cooking, and just generally exploring the world.
