BEing there for you!
I will look after your pet(s) and manage the care and security of your home and belongings until you return.
I seek to combine house-sitting and contributing part of my time to local volunteer opportunities.
I am an empty-nester of a grown daughter and son; an innate people-helper; quiet by nature yet enjoy community. My health is good; a non-smoker, and I enjoy jogging, yoga, hiking, Pilates, and resistance training.
My background is that of receptionist, and in conjunction with being a student of mixed martial arts, I have also worked as an event security officer.
Perceptive, exceptionally patient, resourceful, think on my feet - are words which describe me. My values include communication, truth and accountability.
I have had solid hands-on experience doing missionary work in South Africa. Additionally I trained and served as a volunteer telehelper for Telefriend, a non-profit organization there. In Vancouver, I volunteered in church-based outreaches, and in 2020, I was a volunteer at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Barbados (the RSPCA), taking care of cats and dogs for adoption.
For 2 years I house-sat the townhouse of a South African bank manageress in Johannesburg. A past homeowner, it's more than 13 years I have been house-sitting private properties of homeowners.
In 2019, I house-sat a family's 3 storey traditional home in West Vancouver Canada - October to November, preceded by a house-sit at a couple's contemporary 3-level split house in North Vancouver - July to September. I was told my touch made their home feel new rather than clean.
I am very comfortable bridging respect and value of a person's private property, with appreciation for it's uniqueness. I am known to be confidential, security-conscious, and an impeccable cleaner.
My availability is in 2021.
A current police background check is available.
