a real dog-lover
A house sitter assumes a tremendous amount of responsibility. HSA recommends even trade for watching animals and property in exchange for comfortable digs. My favorite hosts pay (about $20/day), but this is never a deal-killer. If paying for a sitter is an issue, please let me know, and we'll work something out.
59, Computer Programmer
I'm available to watch homes, pets, plants and grounds, etc. for a week, month or longer.
I love all animals, and lived on a farm as a youth. Very experienced house and pet sitting throughout the USA.
CATS / DOGS
Over the years I've owned and cared for lots of cats and dogs, chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats, etc. I love them all the same, and can handle all sizes, breed, and temperaments of dogs -- we seem to have an understanding. I don't mind cleaning up behind them -- and I love cats too!
I helped on farms with fencing and animal care which is enjoyable and wholesome.
MORALS / ETHICS
As a former ecumenical member of my church, I learned to live by a strict code of ethics. I employ the golden rule, to do unto others as I'd have them do unto me.
I respond quickly to email, vm, texts, etc. I remain available throughout my stay in your home. If you're gone for more than just a few days, I'd gladly check in periodically with current photos.
I do a variety of work remotely programming web sites. When house-sitting, I will spend time working and keeping a close eye on your home and pets. I'll bring my own food, and typically don't leave the premises except for walking and shopping.
A resident of Asheville, NC 30 years, I possess a long list of references. As a musician, I enjoy performing arts with theater, churches, restaurants, retirement homes. Pets get a concert when I practice. I am a vegetarian and I exercise, eat well, meditate daily.
I walk frequently, do yoga to stay in shape.
I no longer have Scooter, the Rat Terrier who traveled with me for several years <sniff> and helped on numerous sits. He's back with his prior owner, living the good life in North Carolina.
