COVID-19 Information

We understand that this is a challenging time for many Americans. With new cases in many states around the country, it is important that we cut out any unnecessary travel for the time being. If you are on a house sit, or need a house sitter, please ensure you follow physical distancing and hygiene protocols: https://www.coronavirus.gov

This means on a house sit, the home must be thoroughly cleaned by the owner at the commencement of the sit, and then cleaned thoroughly by the sitter at the end of the sit.

If a sitter or owner has any symptoms, even mild ones, make sure you get tested and then stay home while waiting for the results.

It is important to remember that this is only temporary. There will come a time where we can travel freely again. We understand the impact this has on you as part of our house-sitting community and the uncertainty you may be feeling given the current health crisis.

In the meantime, stay safe by keeping up to date with the current protocols for your state.

Our house-sitting community will get through this and go on to thrive again, safely.

Please know that you can contact us if you have any questions or need assistance at any time.

The House Sitters America team

*FREE: House sitting is usually free, for both sitter and house owner, although this is completely up to the individuals. There are usually some costs that need to be covered by either the sitter or the house owner e.g. electricity, phone usage, vet fees etc. How these costs are handled needs to be agreed before the sit begins. House sitters pay a single annual membership fee, while house owners pay nothing to advertise their house or to contact sitters.
